FROM THE PASTOR

I am pleased to welcome Fr. Don Phiri (SMA) to our parish for July and August. By way of intro I asked him to share a short bio of himself. Please give him a warm welcome and take the time to read some of his background.

I am Fr. Don Phiri and I was born on the 24th  September, 1980 in Zambia. I come from a family of ten (10). I have one brother and eight sisters. My parents and all other family members are Catholic.

I went to the seminary of the Society of African Missions (SMA) in 1999. I studied philosophy in Zambia, did a spiritual year in Benin and a pastoral year in Egypt. I studied Theology in Kenya and was ordained a deacon in 2002. I was ordained a priest on 26th July, 2008.

Currently I work as a missionary in Liberia in the diocese of Gbarnga. I serve as Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish in Liberia. I am here at St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish for Pastoral experience for two months. I am sure I will have an enriching and exciting experience as we live and pray together
